Purchasing in the Merck Group is lead by Corporate Purchasing. With its community of purchasers worldwide we are in charge of managing important suppliers through competence centers on a global basis. We as well define the overall purchasing strategy for the entire Merck Group. Corporate Purchasing makes best use of the specialized know-how of skilled buyers procuring raw- and packaging materials, semi-finished and finished goods, services and other non-production/non-resale goods.

Cost-effectiveness, high-quality products, efficient supply chain management, customer-orientation, environmental responsibility and sustainability are of particular importance. Our suppliers are valued partners of our business. We strive to achieve our objectives together with the suppliers based on the principles of fair dealing, business integrity and mutual respect.
